Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Also known as ‘Talk Therapy’, cognitive behavioral therapy is known to work more effectively than medication in some cases. It is used for the treatment of depression, especially mild to moderate depression. CBT usually lasts 5-20 session and works very well in combination with antidepressants. CBT aims at changing thoughts; because changes in thoughts lead to a change in behavior resulting in easing depression. It also helps clients learn coping and relaxation mechanisms. CBT can also treat depression, post-traumatic stress, phobias, sleep disorder, OCD, substance, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, sexual and eating disorders. CBT can generally be helpful to anyone who wants to learn and exercise efficient control over stressful situations.
At Turning Tide, our therapists practice cognitive behavioral therapy to reverse the effects of negativity.
